Dr. Wesley Duewel

President Emeritus/Extended Missionary Service

Dr. Wesley Duewel has given himself to the cause of missions for the past 66 years. Following ministry in India for nearly 25 years, he served as president of OMS International (1969-1982). He is now President Emeritus and special assistant to the president for evangelism and intercession.

His writings on the Holy Spirit, revival, and soul winning call God's people back to prayer, the source of all power for ministry. His book Touch the World Through Prayer, published in 1986, is now in its 27th printing. Later books, Let God Guide You Daily, Ablaze for God, Mighty Prevailing Prayer, Measure Your Life, Revival Fire, God's Power Is for You, and More God, More Power are also widely acclaimed. Heroes of the Holy Life came off the Zondervan press in September 2002 and is being well received. About 1.7 million of his books are now in circulation in 61 languages or national editions. Several international editions are also in process.

Recognized as an authority on missions, Dr. Duewel served for 16 years on the board of directors of the Evangelical Fellowship of Mission Agencies of which he was president from 1969-1972, 19 years on the North American Board of the World Evangelical Fellowship, and 20 years on the board of the National Association of Evangelicals. He is a member of the board of Asbury Theological Seminary.

Dr. Duewel holds the degrees of Doctor of Education from the University of Cincinnati and Doctor of Divinity from Taylor University. His articles have appeared in many publications, and for 12 years he edited Revival Magazine, which was published in 12 languages. A much appreciated speaker, he has ministered in 44 countries. At 89, Dr. Duewel continues to travel extensively, speaking in retreats and seminars, and in deeper life, prayer and missions conferences. His deep concern for the unevangelized millions of the world prompts constant emphasis upon prayer as the key to harvest and revival.

During his years in India, Dr. Duewel followed closely the development of postwar independent India, helped spearhead the Evangelical Fellowship of India, and was prominent in leadership of the North India Christian Literature Society, as well as the Bible Society of India.
