Troy and Jennifer Gentry

Troy and Jennifer Gentry

Discipleship/Evangelism/Leadership Training

Troy and Jenny Gentry, along with their four children, Tayler, 8, Clayton, 7, Tori, 4 and Cody, 2, live in Jackson, Mississippi. The couple met and married while attending Vennard College, where they both graduated in 2001 with bachelor of arts degrees in Christian Ministries, Troy with a missions concentration and Jenny with a Christian education concentration. A year later, the Gentrys answered the Lord’s call for Troy to receive more education and moved their family to Jackson so that Troy could attend Wesley Biblical Seminary. Troy completed his master’s of divinity degree in missions in 2006. During their 5½ years in Jackson, the couple jointly ministered in a small Methodist Protestant church. Troy served as pastor, and Jenny served as children’s ministries coordinator.

Troy received a call to serve the Lord as a missionary when he was 15 years old. His parents are second-career missionaries with the Evangelical Methodist Church, and Troy lived with his parents in Bolivia as a teenager. Jenny received her missions call while attending Vennard College. In 1999, the Gentrys had an opportunity to go on a mission trip to Mexico with other students from the college. While they were there, the Lord broke their hearts for the lost peoples there and spoke to them both about returning for full-time mission work. Since that time, they have been anxious to return and begin reaching the lost for Jesus. They are excited to serve in whatever capacity is needed on the field, working alongside their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to bring hope to the hopeless of Mexico.
