Maintenance/Field Treasurer

Steve and Dixie King have served with OMS since January 2004. God has now called them to a full-time ministry in Japan. Steve will be working in maintenance on the Tokyo Biblical Seminary campus while Dixie will be serving as field treasurer, helping in friendship evangelism through English classes and assisting as a hostess for mission guests. They will also be involved with work teams and helping smaller churches throughout Japan with maintenance.

Steve and Dixie have a clown ministry as Woody and Ornament, which they will be using as an outreach to share the Gospel to Japanese children.

God has led Steve on more than 20 work teams since 1984. He has worked in six countries and served in five states in the U.S. Before becoming a missionary, he owned his own construction company for more than 20 years.

  Dixie worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s company for over 20 years, as a church bookkeeper for 10 years and then as an accountant for 7 years. She also enjoys accompanying Steve on work teams.

  Steve and Dixie have two grown children. Their son, Jeff, and his wife, Maria, live in New Paris, Indiana, with their two children, Preston and Sydney. Their daughter, Angie, and her husband, Will, live in Durham, North Carolina.

Steve and Dixie continue to trust in God’s leading. Their key verse is Proverbs 3: 5- 6: “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding: in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”
