Randy Spacht
Director of International Ministries
Randy and his wife, Linda, were missionaries in Colombia from 1977 to 1994. Randy, as professor of New Testament, taught Bible, theology, and Greek at the OMS-related Biblical Seminary of Colombia. During much of this time he served as academic dean of the seminary. He served as Colombia’s field director from 1989-94.
In 1994, OMS named Randy vice president of Human Resources for the worldwide missionary organization. In this position, he was responsible for placing personnel where their gifts and experience could best be expended in the mission's goal of "reaching the nations" with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In 1999, Randy began to serve as International Regional Director for Latin America. In that position, he assisted field and church leaders with strategic decisions and troubleshooting.
In 2005, OMS asked Randy to serve as Director of International Ministries. In this position, he serves, equips, and leads OMS missionaries in Latin America and the rest of the world of OMS. He serves by finding answers to missionary’s questions and trouble-shooting problems that arise. He equips through sharing God’s word wherever he goes. He leads by confronting personal problems when they crop up, challenging ministries to new possibilities, and helping focus a ministry’s attention on what is truly important.
Linda ministers in a local hospital and provides ongoing support for their four adult children, two of whom are still in college. She views her role as strategic support for the ministry God has placed Randy in.
The Spachts are graduates of Asbury College. Randy earned a degree of M.A. in Religion from Asbury Theological Seminary, plus post-graduate studies in New Testament at Wycliffe College, Toronto. They have four children: Jeremiah (27), Sara (25), Tabitha (22), and Michael (20). In addition, they have six grandchildren, and one more on the way.
