Pat Winfrey
Communications Department
Joining the homeland staff of OMS International in 1964, Pat Winfrey works at the world headquarters located in Greenwood, Indiana. As part of the Communications Department Pat serves as editorial technician. She is involved in preparing missionary prayer letters for mailing and works on special field and department mailings. In addition, Pat manages the OMS Book Room.
Pat, a native of the Northwest, graduated from Merritt Davis School of Business in Salem, Oregon, in 1963. She then worked one year for the Oregon State Credit Bureau.
Led to OMS through a weekend missions conference at her home church, Pat realized the need for secretarial help at their headquarters office—then located in Los Angeles, California, and answered the call that God had placed on her heart a short time later. In 1969 she visited OMS work in Ecuador where she was impressed by seeing the Holy Spirit communicate in spite of the language barrier. In 1989 she was privileged to join a work team to Hong Kong where the group helped move the OMS offices. There she found her heart broken over the lostness of the people worshiping idols at the temples. In 1994 she went to India with a Men For Missions International work team. Once again she was challenged by what she saw and the needs of the people. Pat considers her efforts at headquarters a vital link to the fields and important to overall missionary communications and output.
Pat uses her gifts as a pianist and children’s worker in her church’s CLC Wednesday night program and plays occasionally in the morning worship service. She has been a part of the leadership team and official board of her church.
